So today played out like a cliche scene out of a typical high school life (which isn't exactly a good thing cause I'm in COLLEGE!). I was talking with a friend and not too long before I had to leave for my class, he pointed out that apparently some guy had been checking me out. My first reaction? "YAY! I actually got noticed for once!" So I asked which of the many people that had come and gone it was, and he told me, gave me a description, and I knew who he was talking about. So I see him later after class and I think "Hey, here's a chance to maybe get to know the guy." So I take the bench next to him (is it just me or is every sentence starting with "so"?). I don't say anything at first cause I don't wanna jinx it and I don't know if he was actually checking me out or giving me the "what the hell is wrong with you" look (given the topic of the conversation I was in when the alleged checking out occured, it's kinda hard to say). Before I can bring myself to say anything, he gets up and leaves. A little defeated, I go walk down by the fountain and wind up misted cause the wind is blowing all the spray in my direction. I stay there and enjoy a little seattle waterfront nostalgia for a good ten-twenty minutes, when I see him again at the gazebo. I went over and broke the ice by asking him to watch my stuff while I took care of something inside. At a loss what to do, I bought myself a drink, then came back and chatted about finals and the end of semester. He didn't say much and he spoke really quiet, at least until his friends showed up. Then he was just fine, so I'm thinking the looks I got back at the bus stop with my friend were of the "what the hell is wrong with you" variety. Naturally I could be wrong, but I think this proves my point that it's better to wait and be sought out. Besides, I'm already starting to come out of my post-Christian romance stupor and I kinda have feelings for a guy who hangs out with me and the same friend who told me I was being checked out. Oh yeah, I'll have to tell him all this tomorrow......assuming he doesn't read my blog and all.
